With a P-account certificate, you can increase the allowance on your P-account after your account has been seized by your creditors, so that you regain control over your balance.

How high is the statutory basic allowance in 2025?

The basic allowance for a P-account has been approximately €1,500 since July 1, 2024. Those liable to pay maintenance can receive an allowance of up to €2,050 per month. There are also cases in which debtors are entitled to additional legally protected amounts.

How we support you with the P-account certificate

Nationwide:

We offer nationwide P-account certification services . In addition to social security providers, such as job centers and family benefits offices, which are obligated to issue these certificates, we are also available to you as a debt counseling center.

Credit:

Certain benefits to secure a person's livelihood, such as one-time special payments for school trips or initial equipment, are not subject to garnishment . Any unused monthly balance can be used until the end of the following month.

Cost:

The P-account certificate costs 80 euros and must be paid in advance.

Costs for the account itself:

No additional fees may be charged for P-accounts. They must be offered at the regular account management rates. Credit institutions may not charge fees for processing or monitoring garnishments. Corresponding clauses in the terms and conditions are invalid.

Increase your P-account allowance – in 3 steps

1. Calculate amount:
   Let us calculate the amount by which you can increase your basic allowance.
2. Certification:
   We will prepare the P-account certificate for you. You will receive it by mail within 48 hours.
3. Bank:
   The increased amounts documented by the certificate are considered non-seizable. Your bank must provide them.

Note on banks and the P-account:

Banks must observe the basic exemption limit when making garnishments. Individual increases must be documented by a P-account certificate. Until this certificate is available, only the basic exemption limit applies.

Cost information for ordering the P-account certificate through us

For SIC members: 60 euros
For non-members: 80 euros
